Eugene, OR – Stetson lacrosse fell to Oregon 17-7 Tuesday afternoon.
Stetson fell behind 2-0 early in the first question but
Kaitlin Pani and
Kathleen Nichols tied it back up with
Katie Kornacki assisting on both goals. Oregon scored once more in the first and the quarter ended 3-2. The two teams traded goals to start the second with Pani scoring her second. The Ducks scored three more goals and the Hatters trailed at halftime 7-3.
In the third quarter, the teams exchanged goals again, with
Miya Scanlan putting one on the board for Stetson. However, Oregon followed up with three more goals, and despite
Anya Lucia Phillips and Nichols each adding a goal, the Hatters were down 11-6.
Samantha King scored her first goal of the game, but Oregon responded with two goals to extend their lead to 13-7. Stetson struggled to find the back of the net in the fourth quarter, ultimately falling 17-7.
Maddie Eckert made the start in goal for Stetson, recording 10 saves and finishing with a 38.5% save percentage.
The Hatters will travel to South Carolina next to face Clemson on Sunday, February 16, at 12:00 pm.
