DeLand, Fla. – Stetson Women's Tennis has put together another remarkable season, finishing with an impressive 18-4 overall record and claiming both the ASUN regular season and tournament championships for the second year in a row. Along the way, the Hatters picked up numerous individual honors, with
Cheri Darley earning ASUN Player of the Year and Head Coach
Travis Sandlant being named Coach of the Year for the third time.
As the team looks ahead to the NCAA Selection Show on April 28, they've also gained national recognition, landing at No. 74 in this week's ITA Rankings — their first appearance in the top 75 since 2022. The ITA ranks the top 75 collegiate tennis programs across the country.
"I had a great feeling that we had a nationally ranked team," said Sandlant. "I knew the talent level we had. To be recognized nationally is a testament to this team's hard work this year. It was a team goal of ours. We are thrilled with this."
This season also saw Stetson make history by defeating South Florida for the first time in program history. The Hatters closed the ASUN schedule with a 9-1 conference record before taking down #4 Lipscomb and #3 North Alabama in the ASUN Tournament to bring home the title once again.
