FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Stetson Hatters closed out the regular season with a 4-0 loss to the FGCU Eagles on Saturday afternoon, dropping their first ASUN conference series of the year.
Junior Ethan Phillips (1-4) started on the mound for Stetson (37-19, 24-6) and was tagged with the loss. Senior Dylan Jacobs provided a strong relief effort, tossing two scoreless innings with just one hit allowed, no walks, and two strikeouts.
Offensively, junior Isaiah Barkett led the way for the Hatters, going 1-for-3 with a double and a walk after seeing his 18-game hitting streak snapped the night before. However, the Hatters struggled to generate offense, going 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position and never advancing a runner past second base.
Stetson now turns its focus to the ASUN Championship, which they will host. The Hatters open postseason play Tuesday at 4:00 PM against Central Arkansas. For updates and ticket information, visit GoHatters.com or follow Stetson Athletics on social media.
