A Note from the Director of Athletics

Dear Hatter Fans,

It's hard to believe that a year has already passed since I moved to DeLand and began serving as your Director of Athletics. They say time flies when you're having fun, and the last 365 days have certainly gone by quickly!  AD Letter 3

We have accomplished a great deal in this short time, including winning championships, completing much-needed capital projects, hiring talented new coaches and staff, and achieving new academic records in the classroom. Here are some highlights of what Stetson Athletics has achieved since May 2024:
•             Competed in the NCAA Tournament in baseball (2024), men's golf (2024), and women's tennis (2025).
•             Completed the Cooper Beach project, as well as the Wilson Athletic Center and Edmunds Center (Phase I) renovations. Phase II for Edmunds is underway.
•             Welcomed Kristin McWilliams (cross country), Sue Murphy (lacrosse), Mike Jasper (football),and Pete Simpson (cheerleading) to the Stetson family in DeLand.
•             Won the ASUN Championship in baseball (2024 regular-season and tournament), men's soccer (2024 regular-season) and women's tennis (2025 regular-season and tournament).
•             Set new highs in team GPAs across the department.
•             Set a new high in corporate revenue with record corporate gifts and sponsorships.

The world of intercollegiate athletics is constantly evolving. However, our core mission remains steadfast: to provide a world-class experience for our student-athletes, guide them toward graduation and compete for conference championships.

I am often asked how you can help us achieve these goals. First, you can make a gift to your favorite team's annual fund by clicking here.AD Letter 2

I am also excited to share the creation of the Athletic Strategic Impact Fund. Your generous contributions to this fund will address the department's most pressing needs. This includes funding for crucial projects, covering expenses related to postseason travel and much more. Ultimately, this fund gives us flexibility to support our student-athletes where they need it most. Gifts to this fund can be made by clicking here, and setting the designation to the Athletic Strategic Impact Fund.

I am incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work of our student-athletes, coaches and staff over the past year. While the future of intercollegiate athletics may hold some uncertainties, I am confident in Stetson's ability to provide a transformative, relationship-rich education and experience, preparing our students for success in their sport and in life.

Go Hatters!
