The Kanawha Valley has seen its fair share of stellar girls basketball players over the years.

Players like Alexis Hornbuckle, Renee Montgomery and Valetta "Wee Wee" Johnson have all had success in Kanawha County.

However, one name that had just as much of an impact on her program like others is former Charleston Catholic star Lynn Bria.

Bria, a Charleston native, spent her prep career playing for the Irish, which eventually led to an impressive career at the University of Charleston.

Since her playing days, the former Irish standout has spent the last 17 seasons at Stetson University as the Hatters' women's basketball coach.

Bria hasn't been in the Mountain State full-time since her days as an assistant coach for Mike Carey at WVU in 2006-07. However, her roots are still deep in the Kanawha County area, which she still fondly recalls often.
