Tessa Gavilsky, now Tessa Florio, a member of Stetson Women's Tennis from 2007 to 2010 has been inducted into the Granite City Sports Hall of Fame.
Â
Florio finished her career at Stetson as the program's all-time leader in every major offensive category: goals (34), assists (29) and total points (97). She still holds the record for points and assists 15 years later. The two-time ASUN Offensive Player of the Year (2008, 2009), Gavilsky was a three-time First-Team All-ASUN selection. During her career she set the program record for points in a season with 28 in 2008 and broke her own record the next season with 30 points which lasted for eight seasons.
Â
Gavilsky has enjoyed a successful professional career since graduating from Stetson in 2011, playing mostly in Europe. She won a pair of Swedish First Division championships with Mallbackens IF and spent part of the 2016 season with the NWSL's Houston Dash. The Granite City, Ill., native was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
