DeLand, Fla - Stetson (1-1-0) fell to Colorado State (2-0-0) with a 3-0 loss on Thursday at the Stetson Athletic Training Center.

The Hatters faced an early challenge as Colorado State took the lead in the 12th minute with a goal from Michaela McGowan, assisted by Olivia Fout. Despite multiple attempts to counter, including a shot by
Stella Comana shortly after, the Hatters struggled to convert opportunities.
Clare Boesel showed resilience in goal with key saves, but another goal from Fout extended Colorado State's lead to 2-0 by the 22nd minute.

The second half began with the Hatters maintaining pressure through multiple corner kicks.
Reese Huffman had a notable header on goal in the 54th minute, although it was off target, and followed it up with another shot in the 60th minute that was saved by Colorado State's goalkeeper, Willson. Despite the efforts, Colorado State extended their lead with a goal by Piper Carlson in the 74th minute, resulting in a 3-0 score.
Payton Quinones made a late attempt for the Hatters with a header to the bottom right corner of the net in the 84th minute, but it was also saved by the visiting goalkeeper.

In their next game, the Hatters travel to Orangeburg, S.C., to face South Carolina State on August 25. The match is set for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
