DeLAND, Fla. – Stetson men's soccer continues its road swing Thursday night with a marquee non-conference test at No. 5 NC State. Kickoff from Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Hatters (1-3-0) were originally set to host No. 19 Florida Atlantic on Sunday, but that contest was canceled due to inclement weather. Their most recent outing came in a narrow 1-0 defeat at Georgia Southern, as Stetson continues its search for both a first road win and first road goal of the 2025 campaign.
While points have been tough to come by early this fall, the Hatters have matched up well with the Wolfpack in recent years. Stetson earned a 2-0 victory at home in 2023 before playing to a 1-1 draw in Raleigh last season, with NC State salvaging the result on a late equalizer. Senior forward Andres Freire leads the Hatters' attack with two goals on the year, while freshman Weston DeSoto has chipped in two assists. Graduate goalkeeper Nicolo Radaelli, named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week last week, anchors the defense with 15 saves through four matches.
NC State (3-0-1), under head coach Marc Hubbard, enters the week ranked fifth in the United Soccer Coaches poll. The Wolfpack are unbeaten and unscored upon through four matches, most recently battling to a 0-0 draw with North Carolina. Junior forward Donavan Phillips has paced the attack with four goals, while five other players have contributed one apiece. Senior goalkeeper Logan Erb has recorded four consecutive clean sheets, facing just five shots on target behind a disciplined back line.
Thursday's contest will stream live on ESPN+ through ACC Network Extra, with live stats available here. Fans can also stay connected with the latest updates by following Stetson men's soccer on social media.
