Hatters Look to Close Road Swing at West Georgia

Stetson Women's Basketball looks to close out its four-game road swing on a high note on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Carrollton, Georgia for a 2:00 p.m. ASUN matchup against West Georgia at The Coliseum.

The Hatters enter the weekend riding a two-game winning streak and holding a 10-6 overall record after a 69-61 road victory over Queens on Thursday night. Stetson controlled the contest from start to finish, building a lead as large as 20 points behind a balanced effort on both ends of the floor. Aleah Sorrentino recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Mary McMillan and Cameron Thomas combined for 32 points to pace the offense.

Offensively, Stetson is averaging 69.6 points per game, outscoring opponents by 6.1 points per contest. The Hatters are shooting 42 percent from the field and lead the ASUN from beyond the arc at 33.9 percent.

Thomas continues to anchor the scoring attack off the bench, averaging a conference-best 18.0 points per game while adding 5.0 rebounds. She leads the league in field goal percentage at 48 percent and ranks second in the ASUN with 46 made three-pointers, shooting 42.6 percent from deep. McMillan has been equally impactful, bringing her scoring average to 12.0 points per game after an 18-point outing against Queens. She also leads the conference in assists, dishing out 4.3 per game with 69 total on the season. Together, Thomas and McMillan have accounted for 52 percent of Stetson's made three-pointers.

Sorrentino has emerged as a force on the glass, averaging 9.5 points and a conference-leading 8.3 rebounds per game. Her double-double against Queens marked her second straight game with double-digit rebounds, and she now sits just 34 points shy of the 1,000-point mark for her career.

On the defensive end, Promise Keshi has been a matchup problem for opposing offenses all season. She has totaled 24 blocks and 23 steals, including eight multi-block performances and 10 blocks over her last three games.

West Georgia enters Saturday's contest with an 11-5 record and a 4-1 mark in ASUN play, having won three straight games at home against Jacksonville, North Florida and FGCU. The Wolves are a perfect 9-0 this season in Carrollton and average 73.1 points per game while allowing just 62.7. They shoot 42.6 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from three and rank among the league's top rebounding teams at 40.1 boards per game.

Senior forward Jasmine Jones leads the Wolves offensively, averaging 15.3 points per game while shooting an ASUN-best 44.4 percent from beyond the arc with 56 made threes. Destiny Jones adds 10.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while Asia Donald and Sydne Tolbert also average double figures. Tolbert has tallied 61 assists on the season, with Grace O'Gara close behind at 56.

Stetson holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series, earning wins over West Georgia in DeLand and Carrollton during the Wolves' inaugural ASUN season a year ago.
