Hatters Host Lipscomb for Elementary Day Showdown Thursday

DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson Women's Basketball returns home Thursday morning for an ASUN matchup against the Lipscomb Bisons, welcoming a lively Elementary Day crowd to Insight Credit Union Arena for an 11:00 a.m. tipoff.

The Hatters enter the contest at 10-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play after closing out a four-game road swing last weekend. Stetson picked up road victories at Austin Peay and Queens before dropping an 88-76 decision at West Georgia on Saturday. Now back in DeLand, the Hatters look to regain momentum against a familiar ASUN opponent.

Stetson continues to be one of the conference's most efficient offensive teams, averaging 69.9 points per game while allowing just 64.9. The Hatters are shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from three-point range, ranking among the ASUN's top teams in perimeter shooting and ball movement.

Senior guard Cameron Thomas has been at the center of that success, putting together one of the league's most productive seasons. Thomas leads the ASUN in scoring at 18.5 points per game while shooting a conference-best 47.9 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from beyond the arc. She posted her seventh 20-point performance of the season with a 26-point outing at West Georgia, marking her fourth game this year with four or more made three-pointers.

Aleah Sorrentino has been a steady force in the frontcourt and is coming off a strong week on the road. She recorded a double-double in Stetson's win at Queens before narrowly missing another against West Georgia. On the season, Sorrentino is averaging 9.9 points and a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game, the second-most boards per contest in the ASUN. She also enters Thursday just 11 points shy of becoming Stetson's next 1,000-point scorer.

Mary McMillan continues to provide balance in the backcourt as both a scorer and facilitator. The junior averages 11.8 points per game while shooting 37.1 percent from three-point range, having knocked down 26 triples this season. She also leads the ASUN in assists at 4.5 per game, helping orchestrate one of the conference's most efficient offenses.

Defensively, Promise Keshi has anchored the Hatters with her versatility and activity. She leads the team with 25 blocks and 29 steals while contributing 7.6 points per game, consistently disrupting opposing offenses on the perimeter and in the paint.

Lipscomb enters Thursday's matchup at 6-11 overall and 3-3 in ASUN play after splitting last week's games with a loss to EKU and a home win over Austin Peay. The Bisons average 61.0 points per game while allowing 64.2 and are shooting 39.3 percent from the field and 28.4 percent from three. They have been outrebounded on the season, pulling down 35.8 boards per game compared to opponents' 38.1.

Molly Heard leads Lipscomb offensively, averaging 13.3 points per game on 42.5 percent shooting while adding 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists. McKayla Miller also scores in double figures at 11.2 points per game and contributes across the stat sheet with 5.5 rebounds, 25 assists, and a team-high 30 blocks.

Thursday marks the second meeting between the two teams this season after Lipscomb earned a win in Nashville earlier in conference play. Stetson holds a 30-13 advantage in the all-time series and is 15-5 when hosting the Bisons in DeLand.

The game will stream live on ESPN+, with live statistics available on GoHatters.com. Tickets for the game are available through GoHatters.com, and fans can follow Stetson Women's Basketball throughout the afternoon on social media for updates and behind-the-scenes coverage.
