Weather Forces Schedule Shift as Hatters Visit Lipscomb, Austin Peay

DeLand, Fla. — Stetson men's basketball heads back on the road for an ASUN rematch with Lipscomb and Austin Peay. Due to weather, game times have been adjusted, with the Hatters set to face the Bisons on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a matchup against the Governors on Friday, Jan. 23, at 1:00 p.m.

Stetson enters the week at 7–12 overall and 3–3 in ASUN play after splitting home contests against West Georgia and Queens. The Hatters earned a 95–86 victory over West Georgia behind a career-high 26-point performance from Collin Kuhl. Kuhl has taken on an expanded role in recent weeks, averaging 10.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while also contributing 15 assists, 16 steals, and three blocks on the season. Jake Johnson added his best performance of the year against Queens, scoring a season-high 19 points.

Ethan Copeland continues to provide steady production, averaging 13.0 points per game while shooting 39 percent from three-point range and leading the team with 34 steals. Calvin Sirmans III remains the primary facilitator for Stetson, pacing the Hatters with a team-high 82 assists. Sirmans turned in his top performance of the season in the earlier meeting against Austin Peay, scoring a season-high 15 points while going 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. As a team, Stetson is averaging 72 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field, 34 percent from three-point range, and 66 percent from the free-throw line.

Lipscomb enters Thursday's matchup with a 12–7 overall record and a 5–1 mark in ASUN play. The Bisons feature four players averaging double figures, led by Grant Asman at 14.4 points per game. Asman also leads the team in rebounds (6.8 per game) and blocks (23). Ethan Duncan adds 10.8 points per contest, while Charlie Williams and Titas Sargiunas contribute 10.5 points per game each. Mateo Esmeraldo directs the offense with 135 assists and leads the team with 24 steals. Lipscomb averages 82 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, and 76 percent from the free-throw line.

Austin Peay comes into the week with an 11–6 overall record and a 5–1 ASUN mark. The Governors will face FGCU prior to Friday's contest. Collin Parker leads Austin Peay in scoring at 15.4 points per game, followed by Zyree Collins at 14.4 points per contest, who also paces the team with 64 assists. Rashaud Marshall and Tate McCubbin round out the double-digit scorers, averaging 12.5 and 11.8 points per game, respectively. As a team, Austin Peay averages 80 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field, 35 percent from three, and 72 percent from the free-throw line.

Thursday's game marks the 47th all-time meeting between Stetson and Lipscomb, with the Hatters knocking off the defending ASUN champions in DeLand earlier this month. Friday's matchup will be the sixth meeting between Stetson and Austin Peay, with Stetson holding a 3–2 advantage in the series.
