ASUN Road Play Begins This Week for Hatters in Tennessee

DeLAND, Fla. — The Stetson women's basketball team opens a four-game road trip this week with a pair of ASUN matchups in Tennessee, beginning Thursday night at Lipscomb before continuing Saturday at Austin Peay.

Stetson (8-5, 1-1 ASUN) tips off ASUN road play Thursday at 7:00 PM inside Allen Arena in Nashville, coming off a split in its conference home opening weekend. The Hatters dropped a physical contest against Central Arkansas before responding with a convincing 76–59 win over North Alabama on Saturday, earning their first ASUN victory of the season. The road swing continues Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM when Stetson faces Austin Peay at F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville.

Two-time ASUN Player of the Week Cameron Thomas continues to lead the Hatters and the conference in scoring at 19.3 points per game. Thomas has been one of the league's most efficient scorers, shooting 49.1 percent from the field—second best in the ASUN—while tying for the conference lead at 44.3 percent from beyond the arc. Her 39 made three-pointers rank among the league's top totals.

Stetson has been equally dangerous from the perimeter as a team, leading the ASUN with 119 made threes while shooting 35.7 percent from deep. Mary McMillan joins Thomas among the conference's top shooters, connecting on 23 triples this season, while also leading the ASUN in assists per game at 4.8 and ranking second in assist-to-turnover ratio. McMillan is averaging 12.2 points per contest, placing her inside the league's top 15 scorers.

On the defensive end, the Hatters rank sixth in the ASUN in scoring defense, allowing just 64.2 points per game. Promise Keshi has anchored that effort, coming off a five-steal performance against North Alabama. Keshi ranks second on the team in rebounding at 6.1 boards per game, leads Stetson with 14 blocks, and has recorded five multi-block games this season.

AT LIPSCOMB | THURSDAY, JAN. 8 | 7:00 PM

Stetson begins the week against a Lipscomb team it has historically fared well against, holding a 30-12 all-time advantage, including a 15-6 mark in Nashville. The Hatters have won the last two meetings between the programs, including a 74–70 victory in DeLand last season behind a 26-point outing from Thomas.

The Bisons enter Thursday's matchup at 4-9 overall and 1-1 in ASUN play, coming off a split against North Florida and Jacksonville. Lipscomb was tested during non-conference play, facing Indiana, Chattanooga, and Purdue, before closing the slate with a win over Tennessee State. The Bisons average 62.8 points per game while allowing 66.3 and are led by Molly Heard, the program's lone selection to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team. Heard averages 13.2 points per game to go along with 4.6 rebounds and 35 assists. McKayla Miller adds another scoring threat at 11.6 points per game while contributing 5.7 rebounds, 17 blocks, and 14 steals.

AT AUSTIN PEAY | SATURDAY, JAN. 10 | 3:00 PM

Saturday's matchup presents a different challenge, as Stetson travels to Clarksville to face an Austin Peay team that currently sits atop the ASUN standings. The Hatters hold a narrow 3-2 edge in the all-time series, including a 79–63 win in DeLand last season.

The Governors enter the week at 10-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play after opening ASUN action with wins over North Florida and Jacksonville. Austin Peay has been one of the league's most complete teams, averaging 70.8 points per game while allowing just 56.5, good for a +14.3 scoring margin. The Govs shoot 45.8 percent from the field, control the paint, and outrebound opponents by an average of 10.5 per game.

Preseason All-ASUN selection Anovia Sheals leads Austin Peay with 13.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while Veronaye Charlton (10.5 ppg) and Jim'Miyah Branton (9.3 ppg) provide additional scoring and playmaking, combining for 79 assists on the season.

Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live stats available at GoHatters.com. Follow Stetson women's basketball and Stetson Athletics on social media for updates throughout the week.
