Kuhl Leads Hatters with 17 Points in Road Matchup at South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Stetson men's basketball continued its opening-week road swing Tuesday night, falling 81-55 to South Carolina at Colonial Life Arena. Collin Kuhl led the Hatters with 17 points and a season-high seven rebounds, while Roman Miller added a season-best 11 points. Stetson also saw Jean-Ernest Boyomo Keedi and Mason Fuentes record the first points of their collegiate careers.

The Hatters came out with an aggressive start, finding early success offensively. Kuhl connected from beyond the arc off an assist from Thiago Sucatzky to put Stetson in front 7-5 with 16:59 remaining in the first half. The Hatters continued to work for opportunities on the offensive end, with Magnus Entenmann providing production inside and from the perimeter. South Carolina eventually built separation and carried a 42-25 advantage into halftime.

Stetson continued to compete after the break, looking to generate offense against the Gamecocks. Kuhl led the way, scoring 17 points on 6-for-10 shooting while adding seven rebounds and two steals. He has now scored at least 17 points in each of the Hatters' first two games, establishing himself as an early offensive leader.

Miller also provided a strong contribution, finishing with a season-high 11 points on 3-for-6 shooting from the field and 4-for-6 from the free-throw line. The Hatters continued to find scoring opportunities from beyond the arc late in the contest, with Miller McGowan and Boyomo Keedi each connecting from three-point range. Boyomo Keedi and Fuentes also reached the scoring column for the first time in their collegiate careers, marking an important milestone for both newcomers.

Alex Doyle contributed six points, knocking down two three-pointers, while Entenmann added five points, four rebounds and a block. Stetson finished with 21 made field goals, including seven from beyond the arc, and continued to distribute opportunities throughout the lineup.
