Hatters to Host North Florida and Eastern Kentucky in Key ASUN Homestand

DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson women's basketball returns to Insight Credit Union Arena at Edmunds Center this week for a pivotal two-game ASUN home stand, hosting North Florida on Thursday before closing the weekend against conference-leading Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.

The Hatters enter the week 16-9 overall and 9-5 in ASUN play as we approach the final stretch of the regular season

Last Time Out

Stetson split its games last week, highlighted by a historic 62-52 victory over FGCU at home. The win marked the program's first home victory over the Eagles since 2011 and snapped an eight-game skid in the series.

ASUN Co-Player of the Week, Mary McMillan, led the charge with 20 points in the win and totaled 53 points on 18-of-31 shooting (58.1%) across the two contests, including a career-high 33-point performance at Jacksonville. She scored 17 combined fourth-quarter points on the week and has raised her season average to 13.3 points per game while dishing out 107 assists.

Aleah Sorrentino added 30 points and 17 rebounds during the week, highlighted by a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double against FGCU. She now averages 11.6 points and a team-best 7.9 rebounds per game.

Cameron Thomas continues to pace the Hatters offensively, averaging 16.4 points per game while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from three-point range.

As a team, Stetson is averaging 70.2 points per game on 42.9 percent shooting while holding opponents to 64.0 points on 38.4 percent shooting. The Hatters are connecting on 8.4 three-pointers per game at a 32.8 percent clip, averaging 36.6 rebounds and 14.6 assists per contest.


Thursday vs. North Florida

North Florida enters Thursday's matchup 8-17 overall and 3-11 in ASUN play, looking to snap a five-game losing streak.

The Ospreys are led by Alonya Waldon, who averages 10.3 points per game on 41.7 percent shooting and has dished out 64 assists. Dezuray McGill (10.0 ppg) and Jamisyn Stinson (10.0 ppg) also average double figures, with Stinson leading the team with 47 three-pointers and McGill pacing the Ospreys with 3.7 rebounds per game.

As a team, North Florida averages 61.6 points per game on 39.2 percent shooting while allowing 71.1 points on 43.7 percent shooting.


Saturday vs. Eastern Kentucky

Senior Day

Eastern Kentucky enters the weekend at 22-5 overall and 13-1 in conference play, including a 9-2 record on the road. The Colonels own a +14.3 scoring margin, averaging 74.0 points while holding opponents to 59.7 per game. EKU shoots 43.2 percent from the field and 32 percent from three-point range.

The Colonels feature four players averaging double figures, all shooting above 40 percent from the floor. Joseana Vaz leads the way with 13.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Liz Freihofer averages 12.8 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds while adding 70 assists and a team-best 23 blocks. Ndidiamaka Ndukwe contributes 11.4 points per game, and Kenleigh Woods averages 10.8 points while leading the team with 108 assists.

Saturday's contest will also serve as Senior Day, honoring Stetson's graduating players prior to tipoff.
