Stetson Dominates Eastern Michigan in 7-0 Victory

DeLand, Fla. — Stetson University delivered a dominant performance Monday afternoon, sweeping Eastern Michigan 7–0 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

The Hatters claimed the doubles point and followed with six singles victories to complete the shutout.

Stetson secured the early advantage in doubles with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Anastasija Adeikyte and Katsiaryna Tuliakova earned a 6–3 victory at the top flight, while Clelia Lombardi and Yuki Mizuguchi battled to a 7–6 win at No. 3. The No. 2 doubles match went in favor of Eastern Michigan.

In singles play, the Hatters controlled the momentum with five straight-set victories and one three-set triumph.

Pilar Astigarraga Harper set the tone at No. 1 singles with a 6–2, 6–3 win. Tuliakova followed with a commanding 6–0, 6–1 result at No. 2, and Adeikyte added a 6–2, 6–4 victory at No. 3. Mizuguchi was dominant at No. 4, earning a 6–1, 6–0 decision.

At No. 5, Dana Baidaulet secured the sweep with a gritty three-set win, 6–1, 4–6, 10–6. Lombardi rounded out the lineup at No. 6 singles with a 6–3, 6–2 victory.
