FORT MYERS, Fla. — Stetson dropped a tightly contested 4–3 decision to FGCU on Sunday at the FGCU Softball Complex.
The Hatters jumped out to an early lead behind the long ball. In the first inning,
Nicole Edmiaston launched a two-run home run to right field—her 14th of the season—scoring
Irianis Garcia and giving Stetson a 2–0 advantage.
Stetson added to its lead in the second inning when
Annabella McClerren delivered an RBI single to center, bringing home
Nadia English to make it 3–0.
FGCU answered in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly, then chipped away again in the fifth, capitalizing on a Stetson error to cut the deficit to 3–2.
The Eagles tied the game in the seventh on a triple that brought home the tying run from first, sending the game into extra innings.
In the eighth, FGCU completed the comeback with a walk-off RBI single to secure the 4–3 win.

Hayley Arnold provided a steady effort in relief, tossing five innings and allowing just two runs (one earned) on three hits.
Ava Braswell made the start, and
Jenna Johnston also saw action in relief.
