Hatters Fall to No. 6 Arkansas 13-1

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Stetson dropped the second game of its four-game series against No. 6 Arkansas on Saturday, falling 13-1 at Baum-Walker Stadium.

The Razorbacks (12-3) collected 13 hits and scored in five different innings, while the Hatters (5-10) were limited to four hits on the afternoon.

Arkansas opened the scoring in the second inning. After a walk and wild pitch moved a runner into scoring position, the Razorbacks plated the first run on another wild pitch. A two-run double later in the inning extended the lead to 3-0.

The Razorbacks added to their advantage in the third, putting together a four-run inning highlighted by a two-run double and a two-run single to stretch the lead to 7-0.

Arkansas continued to build its lead in the fourth, using an RBI walk and a run-scoring single to make it 10-0.

Another run crossed the plate in the fifth inning to push the margin to 11-0.

Stetson broke through in the sixth. Corey Robinson reached on an error and advanced to third before Paul Napolitano delivered a pinch-hit RBI single to bring him home for the Hatters' lone run.

Arkansas answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to extend the lead to 13-1, and the game concluded after seven innings.

Ethan Phillips started for Stetson and worked two innings. Brendan Walker provided a bright spot out of the bullpen, tossing two innings while striking out three and allowing just one earned run. Thomas Achey also delivered a scoreless two-thirds of an inning in relief.

Napolitano's pinch-hit RBI single highlighted the Stetson offense, while Foster Apple added a base hit.
