DeLAND, Fla. — Former Stetson standout Ty Van Dyke has been named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week, earning the first weekly honor of his professional career while pitching for the Palm Beach Cardinals, the Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Van Dyke delivered a dominant outing in his first start of the season on April 8 against Bradenton, striking out six batters over 5.2 scoreless innings without issuing a walk.
After being selected by St. Louis in the 10th round of the 2025 MLB Draft, Van Dyke made four appearances with Palm Beach late last season, posting a 0.77 ERA across 11.2 innings. He allowed just one run while striking out eight and limiting opposing hitters with consistent command and efficiency on the mound.
During his final season with the Hatters, Van Dyke emerged as one of the top relievers in the country. He posted a 7-0 record with nine saves and a 1.52 ERA across 47.1 innings, striking out 71 batters while holding opponents to a .175 batting average. His performance earned him Baseball America Third Team All-America honors, ABCA Second Team All-Southeast Region recognition, and All-ASUN First Team accolades.
Van Dyke also played a key role in Stetson's 2025 ASUN Co-Championship run, earning a spot on the ASUN Championship All-Tournament Team. He recorded multiple dominant outings throughout the season, including a six-strikeout performance across a career-high four innings against No. 4 Auburn in the NCAA Regional.
Van Dyke becomes the first Palm Beach pitcher to earn Florida State League Pitcher of the Week honors this season.
