Hatters Clinch Graphite Division Title, Extend Home Streak

DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson secured a pair of wins over Florida Gulf Coast on Friday and Saturday at Patricia Wilson Field, extending its home conference winning streak to 18 games and clinching the ASUN Graphite Division title. The Hatters improved to 33–19 overall and 18–5 in league play.

Game 1: Stetson 7, FGCU 3
Stetson set the tone early, scoring seven runs across the first two innings to power past FGCU and secure the program's first ASUN Graphite Division championship.

Annabella McClerren opened the game with a triple to right center and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Irianis Garcia to give the Hatters an early lead. Later in the inning, Logan Forman delivered a two-run double to left field, driving in Nicole Edmiaston and Amber Chumley to make it 3–0.

The Hatters added four more runs in the second. McClerren reached and came around to score on Garcia's double down the right field line. Chumley then broke the game open with a three-run home run to deep left, extending the lead to 7–0.

FGCU chipped away with two runs in the fifth and one in the seventh, but Stetson's early surge proved more than enough.

Ava Braswell earned the win with a complete game, allowing five hits and three earned runs over seven innings while issuing five walks.

Stetson Top Performers – Game 1 Game 2: Stetson 5, FGCU 4
Stetson followed with a comeback victory on Saturday, rallying from an early four-run deficit to secure its 18th consecutive home conference win.

FGCU jumped out to a 4–0 lead through two innings, but the Hatters answered in the third. Edmiaston and Garcia opened the frame with singles before Forman delivered a two-run double to cut the deficit in half.

Stetson tied the game in the fourth. Madelyn Synoracki singled and moved to third on a double by Gia Napoli before scoring on an Edmiaston single. McClerren later reached on an error, allowing Napoli to cross and even the score at 4–4.

Forman provided the go-ahead run in the fifth, launching a solo home run to left field to give Stetson its first lead of the game at 5–4.

The Hatters' pitching and defense took over from there. Hayley Arnold delivered five scoreless innings in relief, allowing just two hits while striking out four to secure the win.

Stetson Top Performers – Game 2 Following the win, Head Coach Shellie Cousins praised the team's resilience and consistency on their way to clinching the Graphite Division.

"They earned it. They earned that recognition and that two-day bye at the tournament," Cousins said. "They've worked their tails off all year, and I'm just super proud of how they've responded to adversity."

Cousins also highlighted Logan Forman's approach at the plate.

"She's having fun. She's relaxed and just playing free," Cousins said. "She loves the sport, she loves her teammates, and it's showing. When you're playing free, you're going to have a lot of success."

With the series wins and division title secured, Stetson continues to build momentum heading into the postseason.

Up next, the Hatters close out the regular season against FGCU on Saturday, May 2 at noon at Patricia Wilson Field. Stetson will honor its seniors prior to first pitch, with Senior Day festivities beginning at 11:40 a.m.
