DELAND, Fla. — Six members of the Stetson Baseball program were named to the 2026 Academic All-ASUN Team, while Yohann Dessureault earned Third Team All-ASUN honors and Samuel Fernandez was selected to the ASUN All-Freshman Team, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The six Academic All-ASUN selections marked one of the conference's top totals and highlighted the Hatters' continued success balancing athletic and academic achievement throughout the 2026 season.
Representing Stetson on the Academic All-ASUN Team were TJ Melani, Brayden Toro, Dessureault, Anthony Gonzalez, Renzo Gonzalez and Brendan Walker.
Additionally, Dessureault earned Third Team All-ASUN recognition at designated hitter after emerging as one of the Hatters' top offensive threats throughout the season. Returning after missing nearly all of the previous year due to injury, the graduate slugger batted .304 with 52 hits, 10 doubles, eight home runs and a team-high 41 RBIs while posting a .515 slugging percentage and .419 on-base percentage.
The Quebec native led the Hatters with 10 multi-RBI games and produced multiple signature performances throughout the year, including two separate four-hit games and a season-high four RBI outing against West Georgia. He closed the regular season by reaching base safely in 15 consecutive games.
Fernandez was selected to the ASUN All-Freshman Team after making an immediate impact during his debut collegiate season behind the plate. The freshman catcher appeared in 51 games with 47 starts and totaled eight home runs, 31 RBIs and 44 hits while tying for the team lead with four home runs during conference play.
Fernandez additionally recorded 12 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI performances during the season, including a two-home run performance at Jacksonville and a four RBI outing against Monmouth.
Stetson enters this week's ASUN Championship Tournament in DeLand with a 23-31 overall record after clinching a postseason berth during the final weekend of the regular season.
