DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson women's soccer closes out its first road trip of the 2026 season Sunday when the Hatters travel to Troy for a 1 p.m. matchup at the Troy Soccer Complex.
Scouting the Hatters
The Hatters enter Sunday's contest following losses to reigning national champion and No. 4-ranked Florida State and Kennesaw State but have held both opponents scoreless through the opening 45 minutes.
Clare Boesel has started both matches in goal and has made 12 saves, including a career-high nine against Florida State. She enters Sunday's matchup with a .667 save percentage.
Stetson has recorded six shots through its first two matches, with two on goal, but has shown promise in building possession and creating opportunities through corner kicks and set pieces. The Hatters will look to turn those opportunities into their first goal of the season against the Trojans.
Bianca Mazzaferro has started both matches along the back line and has played all 180 minutes, while
Stella Comana and
Natalia Dorn have each logged more than 170 minutes. Comana has provided an attacking spark from the left side, using her speed and ability to draw fouls to help create opportunities for the Hatters.
Scouting the Opponent
Troy enters Sunday's matchup looking for its first win of the season after falling to Middle Tennessee and Southeastern Louisiana in its opening two matches.
Taylor Richards has started both matches in goal for the Trojans and has made seven saves while posting a .700 save percentage. Richards, Madisyn Marchesi and Brooke Slate have each played all 180 minutes to open the season.
Irene Torres leads Troy with five shots through its first two matches.
Series History
Sunday's matchup will be the fifth all-time meeting between Stetson and Troy. The Hatters' lone victory in the series came in 2013, when Stetson earned a 1-0 overtime win over the Trojans.
