DeLand, Fla. — Stetson women's soccer (0-4-0) fell 3-0 to South Florida (1-3-0) Sunday at the Stetson Athletic Training Center. The Hatters created opportunities throughout the match, while goalkeeper
Clare Boesel recorded four saves in the contest.
Stetson looked to establish its attack early, with
Victoria Wunderlich putting a shot on goal in the opening minutes before Boesel came up with a save in the eighth minute to keep the Bulls off the scoreboard. The Hatters continued to create opportunities as the opening half progressed.
South Florida opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but Stetson continued to push forward.
Payton Quinones and
Abigail Dibble each recorded shots as the Hatters looked to find an equalizer. South Florida added a second goal in the 35th minute, sending Stetson into halftime trailing 2-0.
The Hatters came out looking to respond in the second half and continued to generate opportunities in the attacking third. South Florida added a goal early in the period, but Stetson continued to compete for opportunities on the offensive end. Boesel came up with another key save in the 65th minute, denying Amelia Malkin.
Stetson continued to pressure the South Florida defense late in the match, but the Hatters were unable to find the back of the net as they fell 3-0.

The Hatters hit the road Thursday, Sept. 3, traveling to Pensacola, Florida, to face West Florida at 5:30 p.m.
