Kelcey Ferguson joined Stetson University’s Sports Medicine Staff summer 2018, originally working with football and men’s tennis as an assistant athletic trainer. She took over primary duties with the Stetson baseball in the spring of 2020.

During her tenure at Stetson, she has served as Covid-19 testing coordinator for the Sports Medicine staff and, in the summer of 2021, she was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer, overseeing the Wilson Athletic Center and the Assistant Athletic Trainers who work out of that facility. As a result of her leadership, she has recently been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine and Healthcare Administrator in spring of 2023 while continuing her primary duties with baseball.

Ferguson firmly believes in giving back to the Athletic Training profession. She has served on the Young Professional’s Committee for the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida (ATAF) from 2018-2020 before she was selected to be the Chair of the committee through 2022. She currently serves on the National Athletic Trainers Association Quiz Bowl Committee since 2017.

Specific areas of interest to her are mental health and mentoring. Most recently, she has completed training in a peer-to-peer support program called ATsCARE, which aims to offer crisis management opportunities which lead to her completing a certification in Critical Incident Stress Management. She has also been a preceptor for athletic training students for multiple educational programs since 2016 and is always looking for ways to challenge herself and others around her.

Ferguson previously worked at Moravian College from summer 2016 to Summer 2018, working football, women’s basketball, and men’s lacrosse. Originally from Charlotte, N.C., Kelcey completed her master’s degree in healthcare administration at Moravian College and her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at Western Carolina University. She obtained her National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification in 2016.

Kelcey and her husband, Bill, got married in June of 2019 and welcomed their first son, William, in August of 2022.
