Stetson University Athletics

Kelcey Ferguson joined the Stetson University Sports Medicine staff in the summer of 2018 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, providing care for football and men's tennis. In the spring of 2020, she assumed primary athletic training responsibilities for Stetson baseball. And recently has taken over primary care of Women's Lacrosse in the Fall of 2025.

Throughout her time at Stetson, Ferguson has taken on several leadership roles within Sports Medicine. She served as the department's COVID-19 Testing Coordinator during the pandemic and was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in the summer of 2021. In that role, she oversaw operations within the Wilson Athletic Center and supervised the Assistant Athletic Trainers assigned to the facility. Recognized for her leadership and commitment to student-athlete care, she was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Healthcare Administrator in the spring of 2023.
 
Ferguson is passionate about advancing the athletic training profession and giving back through professional service and mentorship. She served on the Athletic Trainers' Association of Florida (ATAF) Young Professionals Committee from 2018–2020 before being selected as Chair from 2020–2022. She has also been a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association Quiz Bowl Committee since 2017.
 
Specific areas of interest to her are mental health and mentoring. Most recently, she has completed training in a peer-to-peer support program called ATsCARE, which aims to offer crisis management opportunities which lead to her completing a certification in Critical Incident Stress Management. She has also been a preceptor for athletic training students for multiple educational programs since 2016 and is always looking for ways to challenge herself and others around her.

Prior to joining Stetson, Ferguson worked at Moravian College from 2016–2018, where she provided care for football, women's basketball, and men's lacrosse. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, she earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Moravian College and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University. She became Board Certified through the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer in 2016.
