Russell Jackson returned to the Stetson staff in 2023 to serve as offensive quality control coach and tight en coach. Jackson originally joined the Stetson football staff as a defensive quality control coach for the 2019 season. Jackson was then promoted to Recruiting Coordinator and Tight End coach for the 2020 season. A native of Athens, Ala., Jackson played college football at Jacksonville State University after originally signing with Mississippi State out of Elkmont High School.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Wellness in 2011, Jackson moved to Orlando where he served as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach at Olympia High School from 2013-15. In 2015 he went to work for Florida Hospital as an Exercise Physiologist working with children.
Jackson moved to Liberty High School as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the 2016 season while working as a physical education instructor at Wetherbee Elementary. In 2017 he served as defensive coordinator at linebacker coach at Jones High School while serving as a PE instructor at Liberty.
In 2018, Jackson was a PE instructor at Trinity Christian Academy in Deltona while serving as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.
Jackson is a certified personal trainer and has comprehensive knowledge of the Marzano Instructional Framework. He is CHAMPS trained and is certified in CPR and First Aid.
