Tim Schroer joined the Stetson football coaching staff as safeties coach for the 2019 season. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Schroer played collegiately at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. As a safety and corner, he lettered for four seasons, helping his team to a pair of NCAA Division III Elite Eight appearances and two ECAC Bowl titles.
Â
After completing his Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Business Management in 2015, Schroer embarked on his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Otterbein University in Columbus, Ohio, where he worked with the defensive backs for two seasons. He also picked up experience during that time as the defensive play-caller for junior varsity games.
Â
In 2016, he coached All-Conference cornerback Jalen Liggins, who was second in the Ohio Athletic Conference with eight pass breakups, two interceptions, and 45 tackles.
Â
Schroer moved on to Black Hills State University in South Dakota in 2017 where he coached the teams’ safeties, kick returners and punt returners. While at BHSU he coached a two-time All-Rocky Mountain, Drew Hebel, as well as All-Conference kickoff and punt returner, Erick Hairston-Belcher.Â
Â
He spent the spring as defensive backs coach at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati. His cousin, Joe Schroer, is a senior defensive lineman at the University of Cincinnati.
