Is one of five current Hatters to have already received his undergraduate degree ... Was selected to serve as a team captain this year. 

Junior (2016): Started the first seven games of the year before suffering a knee injury in the game at Campbell ... Was able to play a limited role in two more games ... Had off-season surgery to repair a torn ACL ... Was credited with three tackles and two pass breakups in the opening game against Sacred Heart (9/3) ... Had four tackles in the win over Warner (9-10) and three tackles against JU (9/24) ... Made a big play on special teams in the win over Davidson (10/1), blocking a field goal attempt in the fourth quarter ... Had four tackles in the win over Brown (10/8) ... Had three tackles and two PBU against Valparaiso (10/15) ... Had a career-high seven tackles against Campbell (10/22) before suffering a knee injury ... Finished the season with 26 total tackles, including 20 solo stops ... Was credited with five pass breakups ... Was named to the PFL Academic Honor Roll ... Has a 3.0 cumulative GPA. 

2015: Saw action in four games ... Had one kickoff return for 12 yards ... Received a medical redshirt.

Sophomore (2014): Saw action in all 12 games as a reserve running back ... For the year had 29 rush attempts for 147 yards ... Also had five receptions for 34 yards ... Had an impact in the kicking game, averaging 20.3 yards on 20 kickoff returns with a long of 39 yards ... Had a season-high 49 yards rushing in the game at Morehead State.

Freshman (2013): Saw action in 10 games, two as a starter at running back ... Had 64 carries on the season for 153 yards and one touchdown ... Had 11 receptions on the season for 50 yards ... Had six kickoff returns for 98 yards, averaging 16.3 yards per return ... Finished the season with 301 all-purpose yards.

High School: Lettered in football for one year at Northwest Cabarrus High and his last two years at Hough High ... Was a first team All-Conference selection as a senior as well as a first team All-Lake Norman pick ... Was selected as a team captain ... Rushed for 2,707 yards in his prep career with 32 rushing touchdowns ... In just two years at Hough set school career records for rushing yards and touchdowns ... Also lettered in track and basketball ... Was an honor roll student and was selected as one of the Top 100 Black Men of Charlotte ... Spent time volunteering with the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Personal: Full name is Dre'an Remeal Long ... Was born on October 26, 1995, in Muncie, Ind. ... Is the son of Dionne and Samuel Long ... Has one sister, Samone (18) ... His father played college basketball at Indiana-Purdue Ft. Wayne (IPFW) and Indiana Tech ... Chose Stetson over Ball State and Davidson ... Received his undergraduate degree in Health Science in May of 2017.
