High School: Was a four-year letter winner for coach Kevin Mays at Viera HS … Helped team to a 44-8 record over four seasons … Was credited with 78 tackles, including nine sacks, as a senior … Also blocked seven kicks, returning one for a touchdown … Had 45 tackles with five sacks as a junior with two blocked kicks … Had 65 tackles during his sophomore season with five sacks … Recorded 50 tackles as a freshman with two sacks and one interception … Was a third team All-State selection as a senior.
