2025 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)
Earned All-Pioneer Football League Honorable Mention honors... Started all 11 games at linebacker... Led Stetson with 75 tackles, including 25 solo stops and 50 assists... Added four tackles for loss, a half sack, one interception and four pass breakups... Recorded a season-high nine tackles four times, including against Webber International, Presbyterian, Marist and Valparaiso... Registered his first career interception in a win over Morehead State while also breaking up two passes... Posted a half sack and six solo tackles against Valparaiso.

2024 SEASON (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
Appeared in all 11 games, making two starts... Finished with 65 tackles, including 34 solo stops and 31 assists... Ranked among the team's leading tacklers while adding nine tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup... Recorded a career-high 11 tackles against Marist... Registered two sacks against Drake... Made 10 solo tackles against Butler.

2023 SEASON (FRESHMAN)

PRIOR TO STETSON
Played four varsity seasons at St. Pius X Catholic High School under head coach Chad Garrison... Served as a two-year team captain... Finished his prep career as the Golden Lions' all-time leading tackler... Also lettered three years each in wrestling and baseball... Honor Roll student.

Shug Bentley was born on Aug. 9, 2004... Son of Malcolm and Leigh Bentley... Has two older brothers, Blayne and Anderson, and one younger brother, Reid... Majoring in marketing... Aspires to work in the sports business industry.
