Prior to Stetson
  • Director of Strength and Sports Performance for St. Vincent's Health System in Birmingham, Ala. from 2014-21
    • Created, developed, and started the Sports Performance program for St. Vincent’s
    • Designed, implemented, and monitored appropriate training programs for high school, college, and professional athletes
    • Track and update individual progress of all athletes, while setting and monitoring goals based on progression and improvement
    • Use sports video analysis to help teach technique to athletes
    • Worked with sports nutritionists, physical therapists and physicians to establish best care for athletes
  • Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance at Georgia Southern University from 2004-14
    • Served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with direct oversight of all 15 Division I teams
    • Was directly responsible for working with both the football and men's basketball teams
    • Oversaw all aspects of the football teams' travel and operations
    • Served as the football program's liaison with the NFL, coordinating scouting visits and pro days

  • He and his wife Callie have five children - daughters Maddie Swaid (17), Reagan Melton (15), Kennedy Melton (12) and Hadley Melton (6) as well as son Thomas Jefferson (TJ) Melton (8)
