  • Played for coach Bill Thomas at Sneads High
  • Was an All-County, All-Conference and All-State performer on the offensive line
  • Led the state with 42 pancake blocks as a senior
  • Was credited with 127 pancake blocks over his four-year prep career
  • Had 62 tackles during his prep career with two sacks
  • Helped his team to a Regional championship his senior year
  • Was elected Class President
  • Was a member of the Honor Roll and the Beta Club
  • Received the Community Service award
  • Also played on the baseball team, hitting .303 in 24 games as a senior with 16 RBI while also posting a 4-0 record on the mound with a 2.23 ERA
