2019-20 (Junior): ASUN Honor Roll ... Started 29 of 33 games during his junior season, serving as the Hatters’ primary point guard … second on the team with 55 assists … led the Hatters in season free throw percentage (.793, 46-58) … scored in double figures five times, including a career-high 21 points in ASUN Tournament quarterfinal win against North Alabama in DeLand … was 4 of 6 from 3-point range against the Lions and perfect on all 7 of his free throw attempts … scored 15 points as Stetson won at Jacksonville for the first time since 2006 … sank 5 free throws on his to 10 points as Stetson downed Monmouth in the ASUN/MAAC Challenge at Disney’s Wide World of Sports … ended the season by making 11 consecutive free throws over the final three games … averaged 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in ASUN Conference games.
2018-19 (Sophomore): Spent most his second season with the Hatters as Stetson’s lead point guard … played in all 31 games, making 26 starts … led the team and ranked third in the ASUN with 111 assists … enjoyed nine games with 5 or more assists, including a career-high 8 on two different occasions (Bethune-Cookman, at Kennesaw State) … reached double figures in scoring nine times … scored a season-high 15 points against Marist, also adding 6 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals … had 14 points and 4 assists in home win over UNC Asheville … had 8 assists and a career-high 10 rebounds in season finale at Kennesaw State … averaged 6.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in ASUN Conference play.
2017-18 (Freshman): Appeared in 31 of 32 games as a freshman … played 10 or more minutes in 20 of 31 games … scored a season-high 13 points in win at Green Bay, going 5 of 8 from the field … opened career by scoring 12 points in Stetson’s season-opening game with Webber … chipped in 8 points on 3 of 3 shooting at Fort Wayne … came off the bench to score 6 points in home win over USC Upstate … had 7 points and 3 assists in home loss to FGCU.
High School: 2017 graduate of Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga. … two-year starter for national powerhouse which annually produces some of the best high school players in the country … Aninye’s former Wheeler teammate, Jaylen Brown, plays for the Boston Celtics … helped Wheeler to the quarterfinals of the Georgia 7A state tournament … averaged 9.4 points and 3.2 assists per game as a junior … helped Wheeler to the 6A state title as a sophomore.
