AT STETSON
Danny Forshey was named head coach of the Stetson Men's Golf program on Sept. 27, 2021… Since arriving in DeLand, Forshey has transformed the Hatters into a nationally competitive program while leading Stetson to tournament victories, record-setting performances and unprecedented NCAA postseason success. Forshey has guided Stetson to 14 tournament victories and three consecutive seasons featuring team and/or individual NCAA postseason appearances… His tenure includes the first postseason appearance in program history, the program's first NCAA Regional team appearance, back-to-back ASUN Championship runner-up finishes and the highest national ranking in Stetson Men's Golf history.

BUILDING THE HATTERS
Forshey's impact was evident almost immediately… During his first season, Stetson captured the 2022 Aggie Invitational to end an 11-year drought without a tournament victory… Mason Quagliata earned individual medalist honors at the event and was named ASUN Player of the Week. The program continued its rise over the following seasons with tournament victories, record-setting scoring performances and national recognition… Stetson earned the first postseason appearance in program history in 2023 before advancing to its first NCAA Regional as a team in 2024. Forshey has also elevated Stetson's recruiting profile, signing the nation's No. 1 junior college recruit in consecutive recruiting cycles and assembling one of the strongest recruiting classes in program history.

2025-26 SEASON
Stetson continued its rise during the 2025-26 season, recording three tournament victories, one runner-up finish, one third-place finish and nine top-five performances… The Hatters finished the year ranked No. 77 nationally and placed second at the ASUN Championship for the second consecutive season, matching the program's highest conference finish since 1991. Matthis Lefèvre was named ASUN Golfer of the Year, becoming the first Hatter to earn the award since 1991… Thanattasorn Supinraj was selected as ASUN Freshman Golfer of the Year. Lefèvre earned First Team All-ASUN honors, while Simon Engman, Gaspar Glaudas and Jackson Hicks were selected to the Third Team… Engman, Glaudas, Lefèvre and Gabriel Lindahl also earned Academic All-ASUN recognition. Lefèvre capped the season by receiving an at-large individual selection to the NCAA Regional in Athens, Ga., extending Stetson's NCAA postseason streak to three consecutive seasons.

NCAA POSTSEASON SUCCESS
Forshey has guided Stetson to three consecutive seasons with team and/or individual NCAA postseason representation… The run began in 2023 when the Hatters earned the first postseason appearance in program history. One year later, Stetson reached another milestone by earning its first NCAA Regional team appearance… The Hatters competed in the 2024 NCAA West Lafayette Regional in Indiana. Gaspar Glaudas continued the postseason streak in 2025 after capturing medalist honors at the ASUN Championship… His victory marked Stetson's first individual conference championship since Sam Ryder in 2012 and earned him a spot in NCAA Regional competition. Matthis Lefèvre followed in 2026, earning an at-large individual selection to the NCAA Regional in Athens, Ga.

RECORD-SETTING RISE
The 2022-23 season marked a major turning point for Stetson Men's Golf… The Hatters began the year ranked No. 234 by Golfstat and No. 232 by Golfweek before finishing No. 88 and No. 82, respectively. The 146-spot improvement in the Golfstat rankings and 150-spot jump in the Golfweek rankings represented dramatic single-season gains as the Hatters emerged as a nationally competitive program. Stetson also improved its team scoring average by 16.34 shots, lowering the mark to a program-record 284.08… The Hatters recorded a 52-shot victory at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate, the largest margin of victory in program history. Matt Gauntlett established a Stetson individual scoring-average record at 70.5, while John Houchin followed with the second-lowest scoring average in program history at 71.4… Both earned All-Conference recognition.

EARLY PROGRAM MILESTONES
Forshey's first seasons in DeLand established the foundation for the program's rise… Stetson ended an 11-year tournament victory drought at the 2022 Aggie Invitational, where Mason Quagliata earned medalist honors. The Hatters opened the following season with a runner-up finish at the Turning Stone Tiger Invitational… Matt Gauntlett posted a then-program-record 13-under-par 203 over 54 holes and earned ASUN Player of the Week honors. Stetson followed by setting a program record for lowest 54-hole team score with a 34-under-par 830 at the Streamsong Invitational, bettering the previous record by 11 strokes… The early success helped propel the Hatters to No. 27 in the USA Today/Golfweek collegiate rankings, the highest ranking in program history at the time.
APPALACHIAN STATE
Prior to Stetson, Forshey served as head men's golf coach at Appalachian State during the 2019-20 season… The Mountaineers improved 105 spots in the Golfstat national rankings and broke eight school records during his first semester. Appalachian State lowered its team scoring average by 12.37 shots per round from the previous season while recording four top-three tournament finishes… The program also improved its team GPA from 2.92 to 3.5 in one semester.
BETHUNE-COOKMAN
Forshey served as Director of Golf and head coach of the men's and women's programs at Bethune-Cookman from 2017-19… His teams combined for 16 tournament victories during his two seasons in Daytona Beach. The men's program captured nine tournament titles, while the women's program added seven victories.

ALCORN STATE
Forshey began his collegiate head coaching career at Alcorn State during the 2016-17 season, overseeing both the men's and women's golf programs… Guided the men's team to three tournament victories, including the SWAC Championship. His first collegiate coaching season also included a SWAC individual champion and an NCAA Regional individual qualifier… Forshey was named the 2017 SWAC Coach of the Year.

Forshey has accumulated 30 tournament victories as a Division I head coach across stops at Stetson, Appalachian State, Bethune-Cookman and Alcorn State… His teams have also recorded 21 runner-up finishes. His coaching résumé includes conference championships, NCAA Regional team and individual appearances, record-setting national ranking improvements and extensive experience building and developing collegiate golf programs.

Before beginning his collegiate coaching career, Forshey spent 15 years as a professional golfer… Competed professionally from 1998 through 2013 in tournaments throughout the United States and internationally. His experience as a professional player has provided a foundation for his approach to competition, preparation and player development at the collegiate level.

Forshey earned a Bachelor of Science in management communication from Amridge University in 2019.
