2026 Season

  • Appeared in 52 games while making 48 starts primarily behind the plate as a true freshman
  • Earned ASUN All-Freshman Team honors
  • Batted .258 with 46 hits, 24 runs scored, five doubles and eight home runs
  • Tied for the team lead with eight home runs and four conference home runs during ASUN play
  • Drove in 35 RBIs during the season
  • Posted a .421 slugging percentage and .316 on-base percentage
  • Recorded 12 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI performances
  • Produced a three-hit, two-home run performance at Jacksonville
  • Delivered a season-high four RBIs in a win over Monmouth
  • Hit his first collegiate home run in Stetson’s first win of the season against North Dakota State
  • Also homered against nationally ranked Florida State
  • Delivered walk-off double in win over Virginia

Fernandez attended Alonso High School in Tampa, Florida, where he played under head coach Orlando Faedo. A four-year varsity player, Fernandez helped lead the Ravens to a state semifinal appearance during his high school career.

Full name is Samuel Alejandro Fernandez. Born on May 14, 2007. Son of Andrea Lopez and Alejandro Fernandez. Has a younger brother, Daniel. His father played professionally in the New York Yankees organization. Majoring in Finance.
