Stetson University Athletics

Ryan Marks joined Stetson Athletics in June of 2023 as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. Born and raised in Wallingford, Conn., Marks has always been passionate about sports and journalism, which lead him to pursue a career in sports communications.

He graduated from Penn State University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in Digital Media Trends & Analytics. During his time at Penn State, he worked as a student intern in the Athletic Strategic Communications office.

While in State College, Marks was also a member of the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. 

After completing his undergraduate studies, Marks returned to his home state and accepted a graduated assistantship with the University of New Haven. At UNH, he had the opportunity to work closely with various sports teams, serving as the head contact for baseball, men's soccer, and both men's and women's basketball. 

In addition to his work with UNH, Marks also pursued a master's degree in sports management, further enhancing his understanding of the industry.

Marks is a volunteer for the Walter Camp Football Foundation, serving as a media relations associate and successfully managing their social media accounts to promote the organization and drive engagement.

He also spent his summers working as a freelance sports writer for the Record-Journal newspaper in Meriden, Conn., covering local high school athletic events, providing comprehensive and engaging coverage of the region's sports scene.
