Kevin Tarpey is a Senior Associate Athletic Trainer entering his fifth year with Stetson Sports Medicine. He fills the role of Head Football Athletic Trainer and provides coverage for the Men’s and Women’s Golf programs as well. Tarpey supervises the Athletic Training Center Athletic Training Room and oversees four Assistant Athletic Trainers based out of the facility. Tarpey started with the Stetson Sports Medicine Department in January 2022 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Hatters’ Softball and Cross-Country programs before transitioning into his current role in the Summer of 2024.
Tarpey came to Stetson from Russell Sage College, where he first served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and later as Head Athletic Trainer, providing coverage for all varsity athletic teams, and providing the primary coverage for the men’s lacrosse team.
From 2016-18 Tarpey worked at the University at Albany, where he was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer in the Sports Medicine department. While at UAlbany, Tarpey provided athletic training coverage for the Great Dane’s volleyball and baseball programs, while also earning his Master of Science in Educational Policy and Leadership.
A 2016 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Tarpey earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.
Tarpey is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer who is licensed in Florida. He is a member of the National Athletic Training Association. He is also certified in CPR/AED and Upper Extremity Dry Needling.
