Daniel Barber

Daniel Barber is in his fourth season as an assistant coach at Stetson University.  He is also the program's recruiting coordinator.

During his tenure at Stetson, Barber has been a part of three 20+ win seasons and three postseason appearances.  In 2016-17, the Hatters won 26 games overall and captured the program's first-ever ASUN regular season championship.  Stetson set single-season school records for highest win pct. (.788), best free throw percentage (.791), and best scoring defense (57.5).  The Hatters were also recognized with votes in the USA Today Coaches poll and a No. 10 ranking in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll.

Barber, who works with the Hatter guards, has helped coach ASUN Player of the Year Brianti Saunders and ASUN Freshman of the Year McKenna Beach.  Saunders finished her career as Stetson's all-time leading scorer with 1,975 points.

Barber joined the Hatters from UNC Asheville, where he served as an assistant coach in 2013-14. While there, Barber worked with Bulldog guards, enhancing their skills and development during team practice and individual workouts. He also assisted with recruiting, scouting, team academics, and team-building activities.

Prior to his time at UNC Asheville, Barber served as a graduate assistant and team manager at his alma mater, the University of Florida. While at UF, Barber assisted the women's basketball coaching staff with scouting reports, player development and team travel. He was also responsible for conducting individual summer workouts with the team.

Barber graduated from Florida in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in nutrition with a specialization in dietetics. He served as the head manager for women's basketball in 2011-12. He helped facilitate team practices, distribute equipment and assist with team travel responsibilities.

Barber earned his Master’s Degree in Leadership Development from Florida in 2015.  He also earned a minor in Sport Management.

Barber and his wife Robyn live in Daytona Beach, Fla.
