Sydney Moss

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Sydney Moss served as an assistant coach for the Stetson women’s basketball program during the 2025-26 season, bringing a decorated résumé as both a player and coach.

In her lone season in DeLand, Moss helped guide the Hatters to a 20-12 overall record, marking the program’s first 20-win season since 2021-22. Stetson advanced to the ASUN Championship semifinals and earned a berth in the WNIT, continuing the program’s success on the postseason stage.

Moss was part of a staff that developed multiple All-ASUN performers, including Cameron Thomas, who led the conference in scoring and earned All-ASUN Second Team and All-Tournament honors, and Mary McMillan, a First Team All-ASUN selection who surpassed 120 assists for the second consecutive season. She also contributed to the development of a balanced roster that ranked among the ASUN’s top offensive groups.

A national champion as both a player and a coach, Moss brought wide-ranging experience across NCAA Divisions II and III, as well as the NAIA. She most recently served as head coach at Wilmington College, leading the program for two seasons and continuing its upward trajectory within the Ohio Athletic Conference.

In her first season at the helm, Moss guided Cassidy Lovett to Second Team All-OAC honors and helped her earn the program’s first-ever OAC Defensive Player of the Year award. The year prior, Moss served as Wilmington’s top assistant, playing a key role in a 14-12 campaign and a fifth-place conference finish—the program’s strongest showing in recent memory.

Before her time at Wilmington, Moss was the lead assistant and recruiting coordinator at Thomas More University. There, she helped guide the Saints to back-to-back NAIA national championship game appearances, including a national title in 2022, while compiling a combined 63-6 record over two seasons.

Her coaching career also includes stops at St. Thomas University (Fla.) and the University of Charleston (W.Va.), where she contributed to postseason success and player development.

As a student-athlete, Moss established herself as one of the most accomplished players in NCAA Division III history. She began her collegiate career at the University of Florida, earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors, before transferring to Thomas More. With the Saints, she led the program to consecutive national championships (2015 title later vacated) and was named National Player of the Year three times by the WBCA, D3hoops.com, and DIII News. Moss averaged more than 22 points, seven rebounds, and three assists per game during her collegiate career.

A native of Union, Ky., Moss earned her bachelor’s degree in communication and her master’s degree in ethical leadership from Thomas More University.
