Kelsea Ayers is in her second season as assistant coach with Stetson Lacrosse.
Head coach Christy Leach has significant familiarity with Ayers, having coached her for three seasons at Ohio State before leaving to become the Hatters' head coach prior to the 2015 season.
"I'm excited for Kelsea to join the Stetson Lacrosse program," Leach said. "Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will be a great asset to our program. I look forward to working with Kelsea as she helps us grow Stetson Lacrosse."
A 2015 graduate of Ohio State, Ayers has spent the last two years as the head coach of a startup program at Indian River High School in Dagsboro, Del. She also has previous coaching experience with several clubs teams in her native Maryland, and as a camp counselor at both Ohio State and the U.S. Naval Academy.
"I was coached by Christy for three years and I know first-hand how she can transform a program," Ayers said. "I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the culture she is building here."
As a player at Ohio State, Ayers helped lead the Buckeyes to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, while earning Big Ten Scholar-Athlete honors four times. She scored 95 points in her career with the Buckeyes, including 74 goals.
Ayers earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Industry.
