Jamie Souza returned to Stetson University for a second tour of duty, becoming the fifth in the women's soccer program history on January 8, 2024.
In his first season at the helm, Souza led the Hatters to an 8-11 overall record, which was the most wins in a season since 2017. The Hatters went 3-8 in ASUN conference play falling just short of qualifying for the ASUN Conference Tournament. Bryn Forchic displayed her talent earning a spot on the Third Team All-ASUN and Stella Comana's fantastic season earned her an ASUN All-Freshman Team nod. Ashleigh Wise had a fantastic two week stretch as well where she earned back-to-back ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week honors becoming the first Hatter to win that award.
During the spring of 2020, Souza served as the men's soccer was the Director of Operations under current head coach Emmett Rutkowski. Following stops at Rollins College and Florida Gulf Coast University, where he spent a year at each institution as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. During his time at Rollins, Souza guided a pair of players to all-conference and all-regional honors. At FGCU, he was part of the staff that led the Eagles to the 2023 ASUN Conference Tournament title. During that time, he helped lead four first team all-conference players, one third team all-conference, one freshman team all-conference, the ASUN Tournament MVP, and three players on the ASUN Tournament team.
Originally from Ipswich, England, Souza played club soccer in England and, notably, developed as a member of Ipswich Town Football Club's Academy Development Programme. Upon turning 16, he elected to transition to men's senior football and served as captain for Suffolk New College's soccer team. Souza led the team on a successful National U19 College Cup run and league position.
Souza spent time coaching for Ipswich Town Football Club, starting as a volunteer before accelerating to work with their budding professionals from ages 13-16. He helped develop numerous players to obtain scholarships with the club and other professional teams.
Souza also volunteered with AFC Sudbury working with their full-time U19 Scholars. He helped the club to achieve a Junior Cup Final, National Colleges' Cup Final, ESBL Knock Out Cup Final, Tommy Thompson Cup, four U18 County Cups, back-to-back promotions, and The Primary Cup. Furthermore, he has assisted in the development of three professional soccer players from the AFC Sudbury Academy.
AFC Sudbury then lured Souza away from his role at Ipswich Town FC to become the Head of the Women's Academy. He started the Women's Academy alongside long-term mentor and Academy Director Danny Laws and Craig Power. Souza led the girls to strong league finishes and a National Cup Semi-Final. After only three years in existence, the AFC Sudbury Women's program quickly became recognized as one of the strongest programs in the country.
In 2022, Souza earned his BSc Coaching Performance in Football from the Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, helping to further his coaching philosophy on the student athletes improving on and off the field.
