Senior (2018): Shared duty at second base throughout the season, starting 32 games and playing in 35 ... Started the year swinging a hot bat, hitting as high as .390 after a 2-for-3 performance at Kennesaw State (4/7) ... Has hit just .115 (6-52) over the second half of the season, including a .188 average in 12 ASUN games ... Is a perfect 2-for-2 on the season with the bases loaded ... Is hitting .417 as a leadoff hitter ... Had two hits and drove in three in his first start of 2018, against Purdue (4/4) ... Prior to Stetson: Played the 2015 season at St. Johns River State College and the 2016 campaign at Daytona State ... Had just 12 at bats as a freshman in 2015, picking up three hits, including a double, and driving in four runs ... Batted .308 as a sophomore in 41 games at Daytona State ... Had six doubles, a home run and drove in 16 runs ... Chose Stetson over High Point and Florida Southern. 

High School: Was a four-year letter winner for coach Dale Hall at North Marion HS where he played shortstop, second base, catcher and center field ... Also played football for one season as a quarterback ... Helped his team to a 73-37 record over four seasons with three district titles ... Was an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society ... Was active with Gather to Give and the Church of Hope. 

Personal: Full name is Nico Damian Torino ... Was born on June 25, 1996, in Ocala ... Is the son of Damian and Rebecca Torino ... Has one brother, Dante (20), and two sisters, Breanne (22) and Leigha (18) ... His dad played college baseball at UCF (1989-91) and Troy University (1992) ... He also played professionally in the Houston Astros organization ... Is a Health Science major who will graduate this summer ... Plans to go into physical therapy.
