Brandon Brewer returned to Stetson Baseball in August 2026 as an assistant coach, rejoining the Hatters after previously spending four seasons with the program from 2017-21… Works primarily with Stetson's infielders and hitters while bringing experience from both the collegiate and professional levels back to DeLand… Returned following five seasons at the University of Miami, where he worked with the Hurricanes' infielders, hitters and player development. Brewer rejoined the Hatters in August 2026 as a member of head coach Shane Gierke's inaugural staff… Returned to DeLand after five seasons at Miami, bringing additional experience as a coach, recruiter and player developer back to a program he previously helped guide through one of the most successful stretches in its history… His familiarity with Stetson and background working with infielders and hitters provides continuity as the Hatters enter a new era under Gierke. Brewer and Gierke's relationship dates back to their time at West Florida… Gierke recruited and coached Brewer during his playing career with the Argonauts, and the two were part of West Florida's run to the 2011 NCAA Division II National Championship. Brewer spent four seasons with the Hatters from 2017-21, working extensively with Stetson's infielders and hitters… Helped oversee strong offensive and defensive units while contributing to one of the most successful periods in program history. The 2018 Hatters captured the ASUN regular-season and tournament championships before winning the NCAA DeLand Regional and advancing to the first NCAA Super Regional in program history… Stetson finished the historic campaign with 48 victories. Brewer also helped oversee one of the ASUN's strongest defensive units… Stetson led the conference in fielding percentage during his first season with the program and ranked second in the ASUN in fielding percentage in 2021. Brewer joined the University of Miami staff prior to the 2022 season and spent five seasons with the Hurricanes before returning to Stetson… Initially served as an assistant coach and worked as Miami's infield coach while also assisting with the Hurricanes' hitters… Later transitioned into the role of Director of Player Development/Infielders. In that role, Brewer assisted with player development, recruiting, baseball analytics and camp operations while continuing to work closely with Miami's infielders… His five seasons in Coral Gables provided additional experience at one of college baseball's most established programs and expanded his background in both on-field instruction and player development. A native of Apopka, Fla., Brewer enjoyed a decorated four-year collegiate playing career at the University of West Florida… Started 224 of the 225 games he appeared in and finished his career with a .316 batting average, 179 runs scored, 122 RBI and 58 stolen bases… Finished his career ranked among West Florida's top 10 in hits, runs, RBI, total bases, stolen bases, walks and assists. Brewer produced his best season as a senior in 2011, batting .390 while starting all 61 games at shortstop and helping lead West Florida to the NCAA Division II National Championship… Scored 55 runs, drove in 36 and stole 20 bases during the championship campaign. Earned All-South Region recognition from multiple organizations following the season… Was named a Second Team All-American by both the NCBWA and Daktronics… Also earned his second Rawlings Gold Glove recognition during the national championship season after previously receiving the honor in 2009. Known for his defensive ability as a shortstop, Brewer earned Rawlings Gold Glove recognition in both 2009 and 2011… That defensive background carried directly into his coaching career, where he has worked extensively with collegiate infielders and emphasized fundamentals, positioning and defensive development. During his first stint at Stetson, the Hatters developed into one of the ASUN's top defensive teams… Stetson led the conference in fielding percentage during Brewer's first season with the program and ranked second in the league in 2021. Following his collegiate career, Brewer was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 36th round of the 2011 MLB Draft… Spent two seasons in the Angels' minor league system… Played his first professional season with the rookie-level Orem Owlz before advancing to Class A Inland Empire. Brewer's collegiate coaching career includes two stints at Stetson along with five seasons at Miami… His experience has centered around developing hitters and infielders while utilizing his background as a national championship player, professional draft pick and accomplished collegiate shortstop in his work with student-athletes… Has also gained experience in recruiting, analytics and overall player development during his coaching career. Brewer was part of Apopka's memorable run to the Little League World Series in 2001… Helped Apopka capture the United States Championship before the team fell to Japan in the Little League World Series championship game in Williamsport, Pa.… Played on the team for his father, Bobby Brewer.
