Hired at Stetson: January 2022

Eddie Jimenez joined the Stetson men’s soccer staff ahead of the 2022 season. Since his arrival, he has played a key role in the program’s growth, contributing to back-to-back winning seasons and the development of several ASUN award winners and all-region selections. In addition to his collegiate experience, Jimenez also serves on the coaching staff for Puerto Rico’s national teams.

Fall 2024
In his third year on staff, Jimenez helped Stetson win the ASUN Regular Season Championship—the program’s first conference title since 2017—finishing unbeaten in league play (3-0-4) and 5-6-6 overall.

  • Worked closely with Charles Ahl, the ASUN Player of the Year and a United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection
  • Assisted in the development of Clarence Loriot, who was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-Region honors
  • Supported Nicolo Radaelli in a standout season that resulted in ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year honors
  • Played a role in six players earning All-ASUN honors, including two members of the All-Freshman Team

Fall 2023
In his second season with the Hatters, Jimenez helped Stetson to a 7-7-4 overall record, including a 5-2-2 mark at home. The team posted statement wins over NC State and eventual ASUN champion Lipscomb.

  • Contributed to a 2-0 shutout victory over NC State and a 3-1 win over Lipscomb
  • Helped guide the Hatters to a dominant 7-0 result against St. Thomas
  • Mentored freshman Xavi Csato, who was named ASUN Freshman of the Year
  • Played a role in three Hatters earning First Team All-ASUN honors: Luis Lara, Andres Mata, and Alvaro Gabancho
  • Worked closely with Charles Ahl, a Second Team All-ASUN selection
  • Helped develop Afonso Conde, Xavi Csato, and Ross Appolon into All-ASUN Freshman Team honorees

Fall 2022
Jimenez’s first season saw Stetson lose just three matches all year, finishing 6-3-7 and posting a 4-1 record against in-state opponents.

  • Assisted in wins over South Florida, FGCU, UNF, and Jacksonville
  • Helped orchestrate a 6-0 home victory over FGCU — the program’s highest-scoring match since 2014
  • Supported five players who earned Second Team All-ASUN recognition
  • Worked with two All-Freshman selections
  • Assisted in Gio Rodriguez’s ASUN All-Tournament and All-Region Second Team honors
  • Helped freshman Andres Mata earn a spot on the All-Region Third Team

University of Central Florida (2020–2021)
Before arriving in DeLand, Jimenez spent time as a volunteer assistant at UCF. He was part of the coaching staff during the program’s run to the American Athletic Conference title and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

  • Helped the Knights capture the 2021 Spring AAC Championship
  • Contributed to a postseason run that ended in the NCAA Tournament’s third round

Puerto Rico Football Federation (2023–Present)
In addition to his work at Stetson, Jimenez is actively involved with Puerto Rico’s national teams at multiple levels.

  • Serves as head coach for the Puerto Rico U17 Men’s National Team
  • Assistant coach for the Puerto Rico U20 Men’s National Team
  • Works as assistant coach and scout for the Puerto Rico Senior Men’s National Team
  • Part of the staff that helped Puerto Rico earn promotion to League B in the Concacaf Nations League
  • Helped the senior team lead all Concacaf Nations League programs in goals scored (22)
