Jon Hansen serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Sponsorship, and Community Outreach at Stetson University. He also provides sport oversight for the Hatters’ Men’s and Women’s Rowing and Softball programs.
Hansen joined the Stetson Athletics External Operations staff in September 2022 as the Assistant Director of Development and Corporate Fulfillment and was promoted to his current position in January 2023. In his role, he oversees all aspects of corporate sponsorship and community outreach while assisting with marketing and promotional initiatives for Stetson’s 18 Division I athletic programs.
Since stepping into his current position, Hansen has played a pivotal role in elevating Stetson’s external revenue generation. He has helped double the department’s sponsorship revenue, secured a seven-figure naming rights agreement with Insight Credit Union for the basketball arena inside the Edmunds Center, and successfully renewed multiple key partnerships, including doubling the value of Stetson’s exclusive healthcare sponsorship. Hansen currently manages a sponsorship portfolio featuring nearly 40 corporate partners.
Before transitioning into his marketing and sponsorship role, Hansen oversaw the Hatter Athletic Fund (HAF), where he led donor engagement, annual fund campaigns, and stewardship initiatives. Under his leadership, the 2022 Annual Giving Week Challenge achieved a record high in total donations, surpassing the previous year’s total by 15 percent.
Prior to joining Stetson, Hansen worked at Texas A&M University as an Academic Integrity Administrator, coordinating hearings and investigations for the Aggie Honor System Office. He also served as a Graduate Assistant for Compliance and Game Management at Chadron State College, assisting with NCAA compliance and game operations for 13 Division II varsity programs.
A former student-athlete, Hansen earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports and Recreation Management with an emphasis in Sports Leadership and Exercise Science and a minor in Business from Chadron State College in 2020, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He went on to earn a Master of Organizational Management with a focus in Sports Management in 2021 and a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Digital Marketing in 2023, both from Chadron State. Hansen played four years of football for the Eagles.
Hansen is the son of Jon P. and Laura Hansen. His father, a DeLand native and 1990 graduate of Stetson University, instilled in him a strong connection to the Hatter community. Jon currently resides in DeLand with his wife, Abigail, who serves as an athletic trainer for Stetson’s Football and Beach Volleyball programs.
