Jon Hansen serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing & Sport Administration at Stetson University, where he leads marketing, promotions and fan engagement initiatives for Stetson Athletics. He also serves as a sport administrator for the Hatters’ men’s and women’s rowing and softball program.
Hansen joined Stetson Athletics in Fall 2022 as the Assistant Director of Development and Corporate Fulfillment. In Spring 2023, he transitioned into the role of Assistant Athletic Director of Sponsorship and Community Outreach, where he led the department’s corporate partnership and community engagement efforts through Spring 2026. He now serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing & Sport Administration, overseeing marketing and promotional strategies designed to increase attendance, enhance the game-day experience, strengthen community engagement and support revenue generation across Stetson’s 20 Division I programs.
During his time at Stetson, Hansen has played a significant role in the growth of the department’s external revenue. He helped more than double Stetson Athletics’ sponsorship revenue, led the development and negotiation of the department’s naming rights partnership with Insight Credit Union for the basketball arena inside the Edmunds Center, and expanded several key corporate partnerships. In his current role, he works across marketing, fan engagement, ticket sales initiatives, sponsorship activation, social media and game-day experiences.
Before joining Stetson, Hansen worked at Texas A&M University as an Academic Integrity Administrator, coordinating hearings and investigations for the Aggie Honor System Office. He also served as a Graduate Assistant for Compliance and Game Management at Chadron State College, assisting with NCAA compliance and game operations for 13 Division II varsity programs.
A former student-athlete, Hansen earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports and Recreation Management from Chadron State College in 2020, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He earned a Master of Organizational Management with a focus in Sports Management in 2021 and a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Digital Marketing in 2023, both from Chadron State. Hansen played four years of football for the Eagles.
Hansen is the son of Jon P. and Laura Hansen. His father, a DeLand native and 1990 graduate of Stetson University, instilled in him a strong connection to the Hatter community. Jon currently resides in DeLand with his wife, Abigail, who serves as an athletic trainer for Stetson’s Football and Beach Volleyball programs.
