Melissa DeVore

Melissa DeVore was named the ninth head coach in Stetson women’s basketball program history in April of 2026, bringing a proven track record of building successful programs and sustained postseason success.

DeVore arrives in DeLand following six seasons as head coach at NCAA Division II Coker University, where she compiled a 96-72 overall record and elevated the Cobras into one of the top programs in the South Atlantic Conference. During her tenure, Coker achieved back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in program history and enjoyed a dominant two-year stretch from 2024-26, posting a 55-13 overall record and a 37-9 mark in conference play.

In 2025, DeVore was named South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Cobras to the regular-season title and a school-record 29 wins, culminating in a trip to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. She followed that season by guiding Coker to the SAC Tournament championship in 2026 and another NCAA Tournament appearance.

Prior to her time at Coker, DeVore began her coaching career as an assistant at Limestone University, where she helped build one of the most successful programs in Division II. During her tenure, the Saints won seven conference tournament titles in eight seasons, compiled a 304-123 record, and made eight NCAA Tournament appearances.

A former standout point guard, DeVore was an all-conference and record-setting player at Limestone, where she graduated in 2007. A native of Mulberry, Indiana, she began her collegiate career at Danville Area Community College, earning conference MVP honors twice. DeVore later earned her master’s degree from Charleston Southern University in 2021.
