Ryan McGee

Ryan McGee

Ryan McGee joined the Stetson women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in May 2026, bringing experience in player development, recruiting, and program operations at the collegiate and high school levels.

Prior to arriving in DeLand, McGee spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Francis Marion University, helping guide the Patriots to an 81-36 overall record and a 66-13 mark in Conference Carolinas play. He was part of back-to-back Conference Carolinas championship teams and consecutive NCAA Division II Southeast Regional appearances while serving on coaching staffs that earned Conference Carolinas Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2025 and 2026.

During his time at Francis Marion, McGee played a key role in player development, helping mentor two WBCA All-Americans, two Conference Carolinas Players of the Year, 2025 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year Kiara Croskey, three First-Team All-Region selections, and six all-conference performers. He also helped develop four players who advanced to professional careers in Europe. In addition to directing guard development, McGee coordinated recruiting efforts throughout South Carolina and Georgia, managed recruiting operations and campus visits, oversaw camp operations, and assisted with game strategy, travel coordination, and team logistics.

Between his two stints at Francis Marion, McGee spent the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach at Lander University. The Bearcats posted a 19-win season and matched the largest turnaround in program history, improving from eight wins to 19. While at Lander, McGee helped develop WBCA All-American and Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year Wykeria Johnson Kelly, along with All-Conference selection Tania Gordon, both of whom went on to play professionally overseas.

Prior to returning to the collegiate ranks, McGee served as head coach for boys basketball, football, and baseball at Effingham County Middle School in Guyton, Ga., during the 2021-22 academic year while also assisting with the boys basketball program at Effingham County High School. The Rebels finished 19-8, advancing to the state playoffs and reaching the region championship game while producing six All-Region selections.

McGee also spent the 2020-21 season as an assistant boys basketball coach at West Florence High School.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, McGee serves as a site manager for Point Guard College (PGC) Camps, where he has overseen operations at 19 national camp sites and worked with more than 3,000 athletes from around the world through basketball instruction and mentorship.

A native of Columbus, Ga., McGee earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Berry College in 2021 and his master’s degree in education from Middle Georgia State University in 2022. He also completed undergraduate coursework at Brevard College.

As a student-athlete, McGee played basketball at Brevard before becoming a two-year starting football player at Berry College. He later began his coaching career as a student assistant for the Berry men’s basketball program.
