DeLand, Fla. -- Former Stetson baseball standout Chris Johnson was added to the College Baseball Foundation's "Hall of Fame Spotlight" this week. The yearly list serves to highlight college baseball players who have the most potential to one day be inducted into the new College Baseball Hall of Fame in Lubbock, Texas.
To qualify for the College Baseball Hall of Fame, a player must have earned first-team All-America status. Those players who have attained this level of recognition are then eligible for the College Baseball Hall of Fame five years after their college playing career ends, and immediately after their potential professional baseball career ends.
Johnson led the Hatters to back-to-back Atlantic Sun Conference tournament championships in 2005 and 2006. Last year he earned All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball and the College Baseball Foundation. He hit .376 with 11 home runs and 66 RBI. He was later drafted in the 4th Round by the Houston Astros.
