DeLand, Fla. - Stetson University's Justin Bass was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.  Bass hit .706 and scored 12 times in four Stetson wins, including a sweep over conference foe Gardner-Webb.  The junior from DeLand, Fla. drove in seven runs with the help of a home run, a triple, and two doubles.  He boasted a slugging percentage of 1.118 for the week reached base 15 of the 20 times he came to plate for a .750 on-base percentage. 
 
Bass especially came up big in the three-game Gardner-Webb series.  Against the Bulldogs, Bass knocked out 10 hits in 12 at bats, scored at least three times in every game and drove in four runs with the help of four extra-base hits. 
 
The big weekend for Bass raised his season batting average to .370.  He is second the team in runs (37) and home runs (3) and third in RBI (31). 
 
This is the second A-Sun Player of the Week award for Bass and third by a Hatter in 2007.  Bass was also honored March 19 and Shane Jordan earned the nod February 12.
 
The Hatters return to action Tuesday night with a visit to Tampa, Fla. for a  6:00 p.m. game at South Florida.
