DeLand, Fla. - On the second day of the 2007 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft, two Hatters were selected. Braedyn Pruitt went in the 14th round to the New York Yankees, Chris Ingoglia was selected in the 18th round by the Florida Marlins, and Shane Jordan was taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 43rd round. Junior Corey Kluber was drafted Thursday in the fourth round by the San Diego Padres.
Â
Pruitt was a first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection and was also named to the All-Tournament team at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional. A four-year starter at third base, Pruitt finished his career ranked third in Hatter history in games played (239), third in at bats (893), third in RBI (188), sixth in hits (292), 11th in runs scored (174), 14th in home runs (23), 6th in total bases (419), and set the school record in times hit by a pitch (45) and sacrifice flies (23).Â
Â
Ingoglia had a similarly long and distinguished run at Stetson that culminated in a highly decorated senior year. The left-hander earned three A-Sun Pitcher of the Week awards in 2007 and was a first team all-conference selection. He finished fourth on Stetson's all-time wins list (30) while ranking fifth in strikeouts (286), 9th in fewest walks per nine innings (2.86), fourth in games pitched (83), tied for first in games started (61), fourth in innings pitched (380.1), 15th in ERA (3.81).Â
Â
Jordan joined Ingoglia and Pruitt as a first team all-conference honoree and was also selected to the all-tournament team at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional. Jordan leaves Stetson as the school's all-time leader in at bats (995), while ranking second in hits (337), 14th in batting average (.339), fourth in stolen bases (83), second in runs scored (234), second in games started (243), and third in times hit by a pitch (32).Â
Â
With Pruitt, Ingoglia, and Jordan joining Kluber, this marks the 10th time in Stetson history three or more Hatters have been drafted in the same year. The school record for players drafted is seven, which occurred in 2003.
