The Stetson volleyball team (2-14, 0-9 Atlantic Sun) recorded 10 blocks, its second-highest total of the season, but still suffered its fifth consecutive defeat in a 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20 loss to North Florida (8-7, 6-3 A-Sun) Friday night at the Edmunds Center. Freshman setter Jennica Hagberg (Niceville, Fla.) notched 26 assists and 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the season and her second in a row.
Freshman outside hitter Kaylee Ream (Venice, Fla.) led the team with eight kills while Hagberg added four kills and a match-leading .571 attack percentage to her totals. Senior libero Melanie Boyer (New Holland, Ill.) collected a team-high 12 digs. Freshman middle blocker Sam Freeman (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) was in on six blocks, including a solo, while Hagberg and sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Canfield (Panama City, Fla.) each notched a solo block of their own. Sophomore Megan Stewart (St. Augustine, Fla.) saw her first career action in the match, recording a kill and an assist in a short burst of action.
Kaley Read paced the Lady Ospreys with 26 kills and 15 digs while setter Madie Belvin also reached double-double status (59 assists, 16 digs). Bary Rasmussen had 13 kills and Marshay Greenlee added 12 more for UNF. Agata Davidowicz narrowly missed a double-double of her own, recording 12 digs and nine kills.
